03/06/06 - And The Winner is..
The team, for staying together, staying the course and staying up, eventually finishing tenth in only our second season and our first season in Division 2. Well done to all the ravens but especially well done to Jamie Kirkwood, Gary McAdams and Scott Simpson for picking up the end of year awards, click here for the photos.
27/05/06 - All Over, bar the awards!
Ravenscraig went down 4-1 in their final league game today at home to Peterson Park . Foxy scored the goal from the penalty spot today, because let’s face it, we couldn't score from anywhere else, could we guys, despite countless chances, many of them made by, and then missed by, well we don’t name and shame on this web site, do we GR! Caddies didn’t score either but (like GR) put in a good shift, especially in the first half and for that gets man of the match.
20/05/06 - You’ve got to take your chances
And today Ravenscraig had more than enough chances to win any game but they didn’t take them and instead Bridgeton stole the show with two late goals to snatch a 3-1 home win. Today’s man of the match was Davie Napier and prize for comeback of the year goes to Foxy. Best headed goal of the year meanwhile goes to Thainy and the award for best penalty taker now seems to be between Gary Douglas and David Napier. Next week is Ravenscraig’s final game against Peterson Park and the week after that its the big awards show, venue to be confirmed.
06/05/06 - They Did It
A run of four games unbeaten and eight points from twelve means that Ravenscraig by their own efforts have beaten the drop and now sit ninth in Division Two. If you thought we’d go down, you were wrong! Ravenscraig now have only two games to go, can the Ravens win the last two and finish the season six games unbeaten, click here to cast your vote.
29/04/06 - Still Rolling
Ravenscraig stretched their unbeaten run to four games today, drawing 1-1 in a hard fought encounter with Clydebank United. In what was a very tight match both sides had chances to win the game but in the end a draw was a fair result to both sides. Jamie Kirkwood was Ravenscraig’s man of the match and Chris Muir got the Ravenscraig goal.
22/04/06 - You Gotta Roll With It
Ravenscraig went three games unbeaten on Saturday, beating DTI 2-1 with a double from Gary McAdams. Ravenscraig continue to roll and the ravens now have four games left to keep the roll going, starting this Saturday at home to Clydebank United, roll on the ravens!
